If you aren’t a chronic string breaker, then go by how often you play: play twice a week, string twice a year.
Other clues that signal “time to re-string”:
- You are working harder to make your usual shots
- Your strings are moving around a lot more
- Your strings make a “thunk” sound instead of a “ping” sound (without the vibration damper)
- Your strings are broken!
