DUNLOP ABZORBER BALLS--BETTER, NOT BIGGER {2001}

We are continually barraged with "New and Improved" products to the point where I am skeptical of almost any new introduction--not so with "Abzorber" balls from Dunlop. I found the "Abzorber" to perform as advertised, from personal experience and from customers and colleagues. The information available with the balls indicates the core is made of a different material that, while absorbing some of the shock, maintains proper weight, size and bounce. This is borne out by the approval of the USTA.

My customers have told me the "Abzorber" not only plays well, but long. They seem to hold their bounce for a longer period of time. At a five-day clinic I attended at Van Der Meer University, we were asked to try these balls. In a class of 16 players everyone liked them. There must be a down side, right? The price is about $4.00 for a 3-ball can, but they are worth every penny.

Those who have read my articles in the past know I don't believe in pulling punches when it comes to tennis equipment; as far as I'm concerned, true innovation is as rare as chicken lips. That's why I really feel strange being able to say that in my opinion, the "Abzorber" is the Mercedes of tennis balls.
